Kemunculan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (AI) menerusi penggunaan model pembelajaran mesin dan pemprosesan bahasa semula jadi (NLP) menyaksikan bidang hadis turut mendapat manfaatnya melalui lapangan penyelidikan takhrīj al-ḥadīth. Namun, keupayaan model generatif AI ini yang dilihat mempunyai limitasi dan cabaran melibatkan isu autentikasi, etika dan kebolehpercayaan respons yang diberikan oleh teknologi ini masih menjadi perbincangan. Justeru, kajian ini meneliti tahap kebolehupayaan dua model kecerdasan buatan generatif, ChatGPT dan Gemini, dalam konteks penyelidikan takhrīj al-ḥadīth, satu disiplin penting dalam menilai kesahihan dan sumber asal hadis. Penilaian dilakukan merangkumi ketepatan maklumat dan keterangkuman jawapan yang diberikan berkaitan empat subtopik takhrīj al-ḥadīth iaitu prinsip asas takhrīj, teknik pencarian sumber hadis, analisis pokok sanad, dan pelaporan takhrīj. Dapatan menunjukkan ChatGPT dilihat unggul dari segi ketelitian ilmiah dan kefahaman epistemologi, manakala Gemini menonjol dalam penyampaian sistematik dan kemudahan penggunaannya. Secara kesuluruhannya, kedua-dua plaform AI ini berupaya menjadi medium berkesan dan saling melengkapi dalam menyelesaikan persoalan sumber dan rujukan asal hadis. Namun, penelitian lanjut melalui proses silang semak kepada sumber asal dan rujukan kepada pihak berautoriti masih diperlukan bagi memastikan kredibiliti dan autoriti jawapan yang dihasilkan. Kajian ini juga memberi sumbangan penting terhadap pemahaman integrasi AI dalam kajian hadis serta metodologi penggunaan AI dalam pengajian Islam agar selaras dengan prinsip ketulenan dan kesahihan turāth Islam dalam era digital.
