The Muhaddith Sheikh Muhammad Nazir Hussain Al-Dehlawi and His Service to The Prophet's Hadith
Abstract
This paper offers a brief study on the life of Sheikh Muhammad Nazir Hussain Al-Dehlawi and his service to the hadith of the Prophet (PBUH). Sheikh Al-Dehlawi is among the greatest scholars of hadith in India at the beginning of the fourteenth century AH. He taught thousands of great scholars from India, Arabia and elsewhere dedicated to the revival and propagation of the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). They have produced many written works explaining hadith and in defence of the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). This research introduces this eminent scholar by exploring key phases in his life and works, and sheds light on his scientific efforts in the service of hadith.
يتناول هذا البحثُ دراسةً مُختصَرةً عن حياة الشيخ محمَّد نذير حسين الدِّهْلَوِيّ، الذي كان مِن أكابر المحدِّثين وأجِلَّة العلماء في الهند في مَطلَع القرن الرابع عشر الهجري، وقد تخرَّج على يديه آلافٌ من العلماء الكبار من أبناء الهند والعرب الذين لهم جهودٌ مُخلِصةٌ وخدمات متميّزة في إحياء السُّنَّة النبوية ونشرِها في بلادهم في هذا القرن، وكذلك لهم مساهماتٌ علميةٌ فعّالةٌ في تأليف الكتب في شرح المصنَّفات الحديثية وفي الدفاع عن السُّنَّة النبوية والرَّدّ على مُنكِريها. وهذا البحثُ يُعرِّف هذا العالِمَ الجليلَ والعَلَم الشَّامخ من أهمِّ جوانب سيرته الذاتية والعلمية، ثم يسلِّط الضوءَ على جهوده العلمية القيمة في خدمة الحديث النبوي من خلال التدريس والتأليف.
